Amazing cultural exchange opportunity! I feel I am part of the family here. Located RURAL MOUNTAINOUS Uganda and not near any city center. It is the church, school, and medical hub for a vulnerable community comprised mostly of mountain farmers. The previous reviews are accurate. I was welcomed by the staff and community at large, showered with love and hugs. This is an incredible cultural and personal growth trip. The views from the clinic are out of a tropical brochure! As a health care worker, I plan to return.

This clinic is the kind of place that gives you hope. It provides affordable medication to a rural community that would otherwise not be able to access care. Most importantly, the workers there CARE and are KNOWLEDGABLE. The main healthcare workers I got to know, Peter and Dr. Walter, each examine their patient with the extreme care and attention. This stay is a truly authentic immersion into rural Ugandan life and culture – with the bonus of a Western style toilet 🙂

I recently had the opportunity to volunteer with this community in Bududa/ East Uganda, and it was an incredibly rewarding experience. The organization was based in a rural village and focused on providing primary health care services to the community, including child health care, HIV/AIDS prevention, and malaria prevention and treatment.
